Ghana has so far recorded nine thousand nine hundred ten (9,910) confirmed cases, three thousand six hundred and thirty-six recoveries, and forty-four deaths. This statistic has to a larger extent sent fear to Ghanaians it even gets more frightening when there is no vaccine yet, but the government of Ghana assures its people that this pandemic shall surely pass. This has been made evident in the addresses the President has been giving to the people ever since the outbreak of the disease.
One of the dominant precautions is social distancing. Institutions including churches and schools have been asked to ensure that its members observe this important measure. The government has also come out with a digital platform called Ghana which will prevent people from crowding at government institutions for services. The said platform was launched on Monday 8, June 2020 by the Vice President, Dr, Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking at a ceremony last Saturday, the Information Minister –Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the platform would improve revenue mobilization and service delivery. Also, there will not be a need to construct infrastructures to collect government revenues. The issue of bribery and corruption will be minimized since the services will be rendered digitally. This will at the end enhance transparency and accountability.
The platform will aid citizens access government services virtually
The platform is said to serve as a single interface to help citizens access government services electronically from the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). This platform will be a single gateway for the making payment of government services such as Ghana Revenue Authority, Ghana Immigration Service, Registrar General Department, Births, Deaths and Marriage, Business Registrations and Permits, and others.
