Knust students lectures moved to free elearning websites. The outbreak of COVID-19 saw the world in shambles and many wailing as their loved ones got snatched away. Ghana is one of the countries that got hit by the coronavirus, we now have recorded cases of 4,263 with 378 recoveries and 22 deaths. Prior to the great increase in cases, the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akuffo – Addo laid down some rules which included the closure of schools from primary to tertiary till further notice.
The decision by the President brought out a blessing in disguise- E-LEARNING. Students of knust can now channel their normal lecture to classroom studies online. With the aid of applications like Telegram, Zoom, Google Classroom, and Whatsapp, lecturers now had their discussions with students on these platforms.
A greater challenge with the e-learning was the network unavailability and data charges students had to go through. Many students go through a lot to get data at exuberant prices, some charged their school management for failing to negotiate with the major telecommunications in the country to provide free data service.
