TOP SMARTPHONE DESIGNS THAT FOLD IN 2024

Flip and foldable smartphones are going somewhere that no other mobile device has gone before… since 2007, when flip phones were still popular and possessing an iPhone was seen as an unattainable luxury by the average, non-technical person. Now, in 2023, we’re seeing smartphones that resemble flip phones or function as foldable tablets, which is a full circle.

Even though they’re still relatively new to the market, folding smartphones are more fashionable than traditional brick-shaped cellphones. If you’re an Android user, there are currently a few excellent options available to you. Although there is currently little information about the iPhone Flip, you can upgrade right away. The best foldable smartphone models will be listed below in 2023.

1. Galaxy Z Fold 5

One of the most powerful and feature-rich foldable smartphones available is the Galaxy Z Fold 5. With a price tag of $1799.99, it shares first place with the Google Pixel Fold in terms of price, but its 6.2-inch cover AMOLED 2x display (and 7.6-inch tablet display) are both capable of up to 1750 nits of brightness at resolutions of 904 x 2316 and 1812 x 2176, respectively.

Its integrated Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU and 4400 mAh battery make all of that possible. Similar to other popular Samsung smartphones, it supports the S Pen stylus, which greatly simplifies multitasking and precise interactions.

Additionally, it has a triple back camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, as well as 12 gigabytes of RAM and up to 1 TB of storage space (via the Samsung website).

2. Google Pixel Fold

You should also take the Google Pixel Fold into consideration if you’re specifically searching for a powerful smartphone that also functions as a tablet but aren’t sold on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. With a cover display size of 5.8 inches (20921080 resolution) and a tablet display size of 7.6 inches (22081840 resolution), it uses OLED displays but is slightly more compact than the former.

Given that its maximum brightness is 1450 nits, it is significantly dimmer than the Z Fold 5, but it has a slightly stronger 4821 mAh battery to keep it charged for longer. This is helpful when using Extreme Battery Saver mode, which allegedly enables you to use your Pixel Fold for up to 72 hours without recharging it.

With a Google Tensor G2 engine and 12 GB of RAM, it has a similar amount of power to its direct rival, but its Android implementation is slicker, making it feel butteries smooth when in use. Unfortunately, it is the most expensive of the lot due to its MSRP of $1919.

3. Galaxy Z Flip 5

Flip cellphones are more affordable and portable, making them more accessible to the average user. Due to its comprehensive feature set and superb build quality, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 phone is the greatest flip smartphone currently available.

With AMOLED screens with 720748 and 10802640 resolutions on both its 3.4-inch cover and 6.7-inch portrait display, you can do a lot on the little cover screen and see it all with superb sharpness and clarity.

Because of its small build size, it won’t be able to compete in terms of raw power with the foldable phones I mentioned earlier. A 3700 mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and 8 gigabytes of RAM are included in the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It still has an internal storage capacity of up to 512 GB, and its 12 MP rear cameras take clear, detailed pictures.

4. Motorola Razr+

The original Motorola Razr, which is now known as the Motorola Razr+ (or Motorola Razr Plus, or Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, depending on who you ask), was one of the most recognisable flip phones during the peak of the flip phone craze.

This potent tiny smartphone uses a 6.9-inch pOLED vertical display (26401080) and a 3.6-inch cover display (10661056). It has a 3800 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU, and 8 gigabytes of RAM.

Its internal storage capacity is up to 256 gigabytes, and its selfie camera has a 32-megapixel resolution.

5. OPPO Find N3 Fold

Due to its 48 MP main camera, 64 MP ultrawide camera, and 64 MP telephoto camera, the OPPO Find N3 Fold is a potent folding smartphone that is very helpful to photographers. With an MSRP of about $1745, it is priced just below the Galaxy Z Fold 5, but it reaches the sweet spot because to its 4800 mAh battery, which can power its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU.

With a resolution of 2240 x 2268 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the 7.8-inch primary AMOLED display is outstanding. Live sports and games look amazing on it.
