Apple has discontinued the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the release of the new M3 14-inch MacBook Pro. Only 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro versions are available in the MacBook Pro section of Apple’s shop, with the 13-inch model no longer being advertised for purchase.
Since the 13-inch MacBook Pro was the final Mac to include a Touch Bar, its sunsetting also signifies the formal end of support for the Touch Bar.
At $1,299, Apple’s 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro cost $100 more than the 13-inch MacBook Air, which was a very similar model.
Since the starting price of the new M3 14-inch MacBook Pro is $1,599, the only available notebook for customers seeking a more cost-effective option right now is the M2 MacBook Air.
Until supplies run out, the 13-inch MacBook Pro will continue to be offered by merchants and Apple’s refurbished store.
